SCADpro Collaboration
FOX Sports: Insert Graphics
1/4/21 – 3/10/21
1/4/21 – 3/10/21
Collaboration with Fox Sports on research and
development of concepts for a graphics insert package for major national
sports leagues.

Although
I may only discuss my contributions to the project, none of this was
possible without the incredible all-star lineup we had. All are pictured
above in baseball cards, but in no particular order: Aastha Agarwal,
Valerie Bruce, Sejal Mittal, Luis Jimenez, Niket Bisht, Adi Gloger,
Mamta Vaghadia, Lauren Sciortino, Mia Thompson, Yash Patel, and all with
the incredible assistance of Paul Runko and Greg Skura.
Vision Board
1/11/21
The groundwork for the concept I directed: Gamer's Lens. Influenced by my lifelong experience with video games, Gamer's Lens gamifies the watching experience through gaming vernacular. And although not depicted, NBA Jam remained a constant influence.

Ideate
1/22/21
The weapon wheel took prominence, given it provides quick information in intense scenarios. I've spent a lot of time looking at weapon wheels in series like Grand Theft Auto. And the Dead Space series provides a great case for AR integration, because it uses live menus that track with the player.

The vision board received updates based upon feedback from initial ideation: more wheels.

Rough

These were the initial (rough) assets I developed for Gamer's Lens.

Refine

The rough was scrapped and redeveloped: the rough needed a rework from the ground up.

Critique
2/4/21
We critiqued to decide what geometries to move forward with for the midpoint systems of Gamer's Lens. This took place during a takeover of the fishbowl: if you know, you know.

It was a sprint to meet our midpoint: these are direct exports from my artboards.

Midpoint
2/8/21
The midpoint went amazing: I hit my presentation out of the park. The slide deck for which is below: the slide decks were primarily designed by Lauren Sciortino. Gamer's Lens became one of the two final directions we worked on. The final systems for Gamer's Lens follow the slide deck.

FOX Wheel
2/8/21
The FOX Wheel incredibly innovates FOX's existing scorebug (the FOX Box). We reinvented the wheel to maximize flexibility and embolden contrast. The FOX Wheel can fit every and any demand: due-ups, RHEs, etcetera. It is highly versatile and adaptable as a scorebug.
The cutouts hearken to ends of vintage ticket stubs: this is a sport esteemed with heritage.

Honeycomb
2/8/21
The hexagon is the honeybee's favorite shape: it maximizes fill while minimizing loss around the borders. Which makes it great for compartmentalized systems of data, like with lower thirds. It's also a reference to SCAD's mascot: Art T. Bee.

Gamer's Lens combined with the other final direction, at the behest of FOX Sports. The sizzle reel for which (below) was created by Yash Patel.
